One of the most iconic 4x4s on the planet, the Land Rover Defender, is now available as an electric conversion kit. The electric motor and battery pack can be bolted to the original diesel engine, enabling Defender owners to enjoy a new lease of life and the freedom to drive it anywhere without fear of breakdowns.
The company behind this EV conversion is land rover electric conversion, which specializes in turning classic cars into e-powered vehicles. The company’s latest offering is the Defender 110, which features a 450-horsepower electric motor and 100-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack.

Going Green with the Land Rover: A Beginner’s Guide to Electric Conversion
A UK defence company is teaming up with EV conversion specialist Electrogenic to turn four in-service Land Rovers into electric vehicles. The project, called Lurcher, will help the British Army explore the defence application and constraints of electric propulsion for service vehicles.
It is expected that the reversible electric conversion will be tested on a variety of battlefield and military scenarios. The Armoured Trials and Development Unit (ATDU) will be responsible for conducting the tests.
The conversion is estimated to save a Defender owner up to PS6000 per year in fuel and maintenance costs, as well as providing “a sustainable option” for the agricultural industry.
